Sample Itinerary- Ultimate Yellowstone Dogsledding Adventure

Day 1- Morning:1/2 day Dog Sledding Tour on our Sunlight Trail- Tom Miner Basin. Then, later that afternoon relax in the thermal pools of Chico Hot Springs. This is a nice warm-up day, to get accustomed to the altitude, temperatures and dogs. A beautiful trail along a creek, through sub-alpine meadows. Moose are frequently seen here!

Day 2- Full day Dog Sled Tour, Divide Creek Trail- Tom Miner area. This is an epic trail, it starts with a long climb that shows off the dogs incredible athleticism, then reaches a plateau that has the most incredible views of any dog sled tour in Montana. We climb an astonishing 2,000 feet in 12 miles, and it gives us a commanding view of the Paradise Valley and Yellowstone River to the east, and into the Porcupine- Buffalo Horn Wilderness Study Area to the west. Simply astonishing! The 12 mile run back home is all downhill!

Day 3- Snow Coach Tour from Mammoth Hot Springs to Old Faithful. Relax and sight-see. You and the dogs need a well-deserved day-off! Sit- back and enjoy the winter grandeur of Yellowstone National Park.

Day 4- Morning 1/2 day Dog Sled Tour, Crevice Mountain Trailhead, Jardine area. Followed by an afternoon soak in the natural hot waters of the Boiling River (Yellowstone National Park). Often times we sit in the Boiling River and count snowflakes as the fall, and Elk along the banks- truly a unique Yellowstone experience!

Day 5- Full Day Wolf Watching/ Sled Dog Tour Combo, Yellowstone Park and Cooke City Trailhead. First thing in the morning we head out from the Lodge, driving from Mammoth Hot Springs to Cooke City, Montana- through the Lamar Valley. The Lamar is known as the Serengetti of North America. In the winter hundreds of Bison and Elk live along the river corridor and valley. Wolves (primarily the Druid Peak Pack) descend upon the valley like Pirates in search of treasure. We'll stop in the Lamar for a few hours and set-up scopes and watch natures magic unfold. We have seen up to 38 wolves in the Lamar on one day! At mid-day as the sun gets higher, we leave the valley and into the trees and high country near Cooke City to run the dogs in the cool temperatures of the Beartooth Pass.

Lodging each night at the Bear Lair Lodge, near the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park.

Price $300 per person/ per day/ Based on 6 people.  (Price includes lodging, guided activities, park admission fees)
